REALITIES OF YOUNG WOMEN IN THE ARAB WORLD
Within the framework of the UN International Year for the Rapprochement of Cultures (2010) a small group of young Syrian women and Palestinian / Iraqi refugee women were provided with a two-week participatory photography workshop that has taken place at the Institute of Applied Arts in Damascus. The workshop allowed this group of women to develop basic knowledge in photography as well as to look into their own living environments and depict the reality of their daily lives from the inside. The pictures of the workshop were shown in an exhibition.
Project partners: Photography Department of the Institute of Applied Arts, Danish Refugee Council (DRC), German Embassy and Swiss Embassy to Syria (Syrian Arab Republic), Mustafa Ali Gallery.
